My first Giveaway!

I've finally decided it was about time I hosted my first giveaway! I've been quite reluctant to do so up until this point because I was worrying about so many different things. This giveaway is a selection of my most used/all time favourite products from Lush. I thought as I was visiting the new well kind of new Oxford street Lush store in July over my 21st birthday this all tied in quite nicely.

Here is what you could win,

If you'd like to read reviews on any of these products please head over to the Lush website where you can find all of these amazing goodies.

So if you love Lush as much I do I hope this sounds good to you! I know I'd be jumping at the chance. As this is my first giveaway it will only be available for UK entrants and all you have to do is enter via Rafflecoppter as well as giving me a follow over on Bloglovin' if you'd like to where I will be following back.

Good luck everybody!

UPDATE: Lush have announced that some of their products are being taken off the shelf to make room for some new arrivals. Two of these products are 'Space girl' bath bomb and 'Granny takes a dip' bath bomb. If I am unable to buy these both before they are gone then I will be replacing them with 2 other Lush products. I'm so sorry to everyone, I had no idea. I will notify the winner when the giveaway has ended.

Terms and Conditions: In the event of any of these products being unavailable I will contact the winner and ask for them to choose a similar product for me to add to the giveaway (this may result in a delay of the prize being sent). Please remember this giveaway is only open in the UK. This giveaway is hosted by Rafflecoppter and the winner will be chosen at random. The winner will be notified via Email as soon as they are picked and have up to 28 days to respond. This giveaway begins 28th June 2015 and is set to end July 30th 2015 at 00:00.

Lush #GayisOk campaign.

I'm so excited to type up this post, literally it fills me with pride and happiness, SO MUCH HAPPINESS.

The Lush campaign #GayisOkay has well and truly confirmed for me exactly why and how much I love this shop. Yesterday I saw a ton of pictures and tweets about people's local Lush stores with incredible window displays and even better #GayisOk soap bars... let me add these are gold and sparkly. This campaign is to continue raising awareness and ultimately continue fighting for equality everywhere in the world. Did you know in 76 countries it's still a crime to be gay, in some you risk losing your life over it. For me living in the UK as a gay lady this just blows my mind, it makes me extremely sad that people can't live being who they truly are.

After reading lots about the campaign and seeing how excited people were getting over it I had to rush down to my local Lush store in Southampton and hope they were taking part in it. It's the best I've ever seen the shop look. It made me so extremely proud! What was lovely as well was the staff were just as excited over this campaign as I was. They asked me if I knew about it and even offered to take photos for me for my blog. Southampton Lush store, you are amazing.

What if your love was illegal? That question really puts it into perspective for you doesn't it. Why are Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender people's love any less special than someone who is heterosexual. Why in so many countries is this still such a huge issue. I feel extremely lucky to live in a country where being gay is almost at the point of being just as acceptable as anything else. Unfortunately though, others aren't and we need to change this.

Honestly everybody, these bars of soap are just £4, that's 4 towards LGBT charities and helping this world become equal everywhere. Even better you get something that looks incredible and smells great too!

If you guys want to get involved in this campaign, make sure you get down to your local Lush store and grab yourself one of these great #GayisOk soap bars. Take pictures, share it on social media, and get the word out there. You can read more about this over on the Lush website as well as being able to buy the soap if you are unable to get into a store to buy one. I believe this campaign is running till the 5th of July so you've still got plenty of time. You can also tweet/instagram using the hashtags #GayisOk #allout and don't forget to @ your local lush store so they can see for themselves!

I hope you enjoyed this one, I'd love to see if you've bought your Gay is ok soap! Tweet me or follow me on instagram so I can check them out.

Why blogging means so much to me.

This wonderful little post has actually been inspired by my previous post 'Eleven Things'. The eleven things was a bloggers tag where I answered some questions from a fellow blogger, two of these questions were regarding my blog. These questions really got me thinking about why I started blogging and what it means to me now 4 months on from writing my very first blog post which you can read here 'I'm new to all of this'. I'll admit I cringe a little & I come across very nervous.

I've never really been one for sharing what I have to say on the internet, not for my family and friends to read anyway so starting this blog was a huge thing. At first I was almost certain it would be something that I would keep to myself, something private that only I could read. Time went on and I knew that I wanted to write about things that could potentially help others, well these posts could only help other people if I shared them. Deciding to put my blog out there has probably helped me more than helping others, which is okay because that is equally just as important. Through blogging I have gained confidence, learnt lots of technical things that I probably couldn't even begin to explain how to do (HTML CODING DAMN YOU!!) and most importantly met and spoke to lots of lovely people.

To me blogging gives me an outlet to express how I'm feeling. It means I can type up a whole post on how good or bad my week has been, even if people aren't that interested. Blogging gives me the opportunity to do that and I can write whatever I want. Whilst blogging is all about having freedom of speech, it also means fantastic opportunities if you work hard enough. Blogging isn't just typing a few sentences and hitting publish, its weeks of planning if not months. It's ensuring you're engaging enough so that your readers will want to come back for more. Anybody can set up a blog, but it's contentiously working hard at improving it and providing good content that makes you a blogger.

Blogging has evolved massively in the past few years and is continuing to evolve as we speak. The popularity of having your own blog has sky rocketed and I'm proud to be part of that journey! If some of the reasons above aren't enough to make you want to start blogging I'm not sure what is. Blogging can be challenging but above all of that it is simply amazing.

What does blogging mean to you?

Eleven Things.

I was tagged by the lovely Rebecca over on I always believed in futures to take part in the 'Eleven Things' tag, so thank you Rebecca. Hopefully you enjoy finding out a little more about me!

1. Why did you decide to start Blogging? After reading various blogs over the years one day I decided to get a blogger account and start writing posts, it's been 4 months now and I haven't looked back! Blogging gives me so much enjoyment, I love being able to write about things that matter to me and taking part in posts just like this.

2. Best book you've read so far this year? Is it bad if I say I haven't actually finished reading a book this year, oops! I keep starting and then I forget about them. I finished 'The Perks of Being a Wallflower' at the very end of last year and I loved it. Truthfully I'm not really a sit down read a book kinda girl.

3. Favourite TV show right now? This question is perfect for me!! I am currently obsessing over Orange is The New black season 3!!! I waited a whole year to see the perfection that is Alex and Piper back on my screen.

4. What's on your bucket list? Two of my main things are to visit New York and Australia! I'd love to be able to say I've been to those two places. New York is the main one, it just looks so incredible.

5. What has blogging done for you? Overall I think it has just given me more confidence. A few years back I'd of been horrified at the thought of people close to me and strangers reading stuff I had written. I still get a little worried now but I know how happy blogging has made me and that is the main thing. Since starting my blog as well I have met some lovely people.

6. Do you have any weird habits? I probably do if you asked other people but to pick them out myself I don't think so. If I do though, you can bet they come to me as soon as I publish this post.

7. If you were to go on BGT, what would your talent be? Well even though I can't play and I most definitely can't sing to save my life I'd still attempt to play acoustic guitar and sing. I'd have 4 buzzers within seconds! Haha.

8. What would your last meal be? This is so difficult because I am such a fussy eater! I'd have to say Chinese food. Not the healthiest, nor my favourite, but if it's your last meal who the hell cares aye.

9. What was your favourite subject at school? I'm going to sound really boring now and say English, I think mainly because it was one of the subjects I was actually quite good at and I had a good teacher.

10. What is your biggest guilty pleasure? Binge watching. I can't help but love Keeping up with the Kardashians and TOWIE. It's a problem that I can't control.

11. Most embarrassing thing to ever happen to you? I feel like I'm constantly embarrassing myself. If I had to pick one it would most probably be falling over in the middle of a nightclub (I WAS SOBER) cutting my lip open and being carried out by bouncers. I ended up in hospital for the night, may I add I work in this hospital. Everybody was looking down on me as if I was some drunken idiot. It's even more embarrassing that this only happened last October. Now if you look close enough I have a lovely scar on my lip to remind myself of the ordeal.

I hope you enjoyed this post! I now tag,

Hannah at Miss Nicklin / Serena at Ramblings of another Uni Student / Kayleigh at Candy Floss Dreams / Diana at A Retro Bombshells Loves / Paige at A Paige a Time / Karen at Raising Mighty Girls / Tara at Tara FrostedPlanet / Wendy at My life and loves / Samantha at Coco Butter Blog

My Questions are,

1.What's the reason behind your blogs name?
2. How long have you been blogging?
3. Do you have any hobbies?
4. What did you want to do for a job when you were younger?
5. If you had unlimited money for just ONE week, how would you spend it?
6. What beauty product is your most used?
7. What do you want to achieve by the end of 2015?
8. If you could move to a different country, where would it be and why?
9. What do you think is the best thing about having a blog?
10. What 3 things do you like about yourself?
11. Do you have any embarrassing nicknames (current or past), if so what is it and why did you get it?

Beauty Wishlist.

I've been really strict on myself this month and tried my hardest not to spend too much money on clothes and make-up, so far so good and I'm pretty impressed with myself. It's my birthday next month and me and my mum are taking a trip to London, I know full well I will be spending lots of money on various bits and pieces. I'm so excited!! I'm going to try to continue not buying much this month so I can have a massive splurge in July. If you're anything like me when it comes to shopping, you'll know how hard this will be.

I'm the kind of shopper that will buy something without thinking, get home and ask myself will I even use this? I'd probably cry if I ever found out the amount of money I've spent over the last year on pointless things. Well July is going to be the month where I don't care, I won't be leaving London empty handed let me tell you that much. I'm so excited to visit the new Lush shop in Oxford street!!!

Although I'm being strict on myself, that doesn't stop me from making a wishlist does it! There are some fairly cheap products this month which means I may as well just treat myself to maybe one or two of them.

1. Body Shop Vitamin E Moisture Cream, £11. 2. Body Shop Vitamin E Gentle Facial Wash, £8.50. 3. Benefit Hoola Bronzer, £23.50. 4. Rimmel Lasting Finish Kate Lipstick #31, £5.49. 5. Rimmel Lasting Finish Kate Lipstick #34, £5.49. 6. Real Techniques 100 Arched Powder brush, £25. 7. Lush Mr Dandy's Hair Candy, £12.95. 8. Lush Oatfix Face Mask, £6.50.

If anybody could recommend some good shops to visit in London and Westfield please leave some comments below, I'd love to read them.

My top 10 apps!

Today I decided to do quite a different blog post, I saw it on a list of post ideas and I thought seen as I use my phone way too much I'd delve into it. I have a number of apps on my phone, some I use daily and others that I have no idea why they are taking up space on my phone. I'm one of those neat freaks with my phone and yes I'm guilty of putting my apps all in their specific folders.

Being a blogger you quickly learn that social media is your best friend, you will rely on it for almost everything. I wouldn't like to say it's key to success but without social media you wouldn't be able to share your blog with everybody else. Twitter is my favourite app when it comes to blogging; it's your quickest route to asking questions, sharing posts and interacting with other people. Facebook has also been one of my favourite apps since starting my blog! I've joined some fantastic groups and had so much help and support from other bloggers, blogging can be lonely if you don't interact with others so getting involved in facebook groups is the best thing you can do especially for new bloggers.

Instagram and Whatsapp are my more personal apps. Instagram helped me connect with fellow bloggers but ultimately I don't use it much to promote my blog. Personally I feel like you should have the specific social media accounts to use that you promote on and others the occasional but not bombarding you followers with blog links. People quickly find the unfollow button when you start spamming them, remember nobody likes a spammer!!

Bloglovin', the most frustrating app in the world. It took me soooooo long to figure out the benefit of this app, please tell me I'm not the only one. It seemed extremely pointless to me when I first downloaded it. I was following the crowed, other bloggers had it, and so I wanted it too. Now I've learned the beneficial factors to following other people on there and how much easier it is than bloggers crappy following system. Bloglovin' I would say is an essential app. You can have all your favourite bloggers in one place meaning easier access to their posts. I only have a very selective few blogs where I physically type their URL into the top bar to look at, other blogs I read their posts from bloglovin'. I'm on it every 2 minutes compared to the first initial days of not having a clue what it was or how to use it. If you don't have it, consider downloading it even if you aren't a blogger.

Spotify is my saviour on long bus journeys at 6am on my way to work each morning, I even had to go premium because those god damn adverts were killing my vibe. Some of my playlists are so embarrassing you'd think it was a 2006 version of me listening to it, Old school RnB has a special place in my heart I just can’t resist. Buzz Feed is just my guilty pleasure and again cures my boredom when I find myself half asleep going to work, I'd highly recommend it if you find yourself on public transport a lot.

My last 3 favourite apps are what I use most for my photographs and bloody hell they make those not so good photos look ten times better. My most used one would have to be Afterlight, this app has a ton of filters and most importantly you can adjust the brightness and colour on a photo!! Dull looking photos are my pet hate, they are off putting and photography is a massive passion of mine. I wish I took it up professionally, although I'm not sure I'd half enjoy it if it wasn't just for fun. Squareready and A beautiful mess (ABM) are fantastic for resizing images for blog posts and adding quirky little drawings and titles onto photos you've already taken. I discovered ABM through instagram and I have never looked back.

I hope you enjoyed reading this post, I feel like its maybe a little long winded and all over the place but you know what I quite like doing these sort of posts sometimes. Being able to feel more relaxed and not stressing over saying the right or wrong things when it comes to the deeper posts.

What are your favourite and most used apps?

All the apps that have appeared in my post are,

1. Twitter (Free)
2. Facebook (Free)
3. Whatsapp (Free)
4. Instagram (Free)
5. Spotify (Free to download - in app purchases if wanting to go Premium)
6. Bloglovin' (Free)
7. BuzzFeed (Free)
8. A Beautiful Mess - ABM (£0.79p in app purchases)
9. Afterlight (£0.79p in app purchases)
10. Squareready (Free)

Glossybox June 2015

Another long time no see! I really have to start blogging more regularly. This month I subscribed to Glossybox which I've been super excited about for weeks now. I was really torn between Glossybox and Birchbox. Both seem very similar and my friend has been with Glossybox for a few months and highly recommended it so I thought I'd give it a go.

My First box arrived pretty quickly after subscribing to them for the £10 monthly subscription which you are able to unsubscribe from at any time which is perfect for me. The actual packaging is really pretty and well presented; I love all the finer details like the black ribbon. I think the smaller details make a product 10 times better. I just love the thought of getting a present each month not knowing what's going to be inside, I think for a tenner as well it’s well worth the money.

This month's box was festival themed, which for me sounded like it was going to be a good one. I opened it up to find 5 products, some full sized. These products included,

- Halo Facial wipes
- Kueshi Anti-cellulite booster cream
- Essence Nail Varnish
- Monuspa Rosewood Reviving mist
- Tattoo's

Out of the products in the box I will more than likely only find use for the Facial wipes and Monuspa face spray. But just like lots of other reviews I've read on this month’s box maybe this month just wasn't as suited to me as some people have loved this month’s edition. I've used both the wipes and spray so far, I'm not sure on the monuspa face spray yet as I have only used it a few times, but it would definitely come in use on hotter days. On the packaging it says it can fix make up but I am yet to test it for this use, so hopefully it actually works. The face wipes however were really lovely to use, they didn't feel too harsh on the skin and my make-up came off easily with them. If you were using these products for a festival as the theme suggests these would be extremely handy as the packaging is small with 10 wipes included.

The last 3 products that I wasn't too thrilled over were the nail varnish, Kueshi cream and Glossybox tattoos. This is because they are a complete waste on me. The nail varnish would be great if I actually wore any, but I don't so it can go into my collection that I very rarely use. The Kueshi anticellulite booster was actually a full sized product, typically! I'm not ruling it out as it could possibly be quite useful, we will have to see. The tattoos were the most disappointing product for me this month, but I guess as it was festival themed I completely understand why they were relevant in this month’s box. Overall I guess for my first box I won't put too much into my thoughts on the products as I had no idea what to expect. All I know is I can't wait for July's box!

What did you fellow Glossybox Subscribers think of this month’s box? Share your thoughts.

Homeware Wishlist.

I never thought a few years back I'd now be getting excited over a vase or a set of candles but I've officially hit that stage in my life and no way am I afraid to admit it. Do you know how many lovely homeware accessories and d├ęcor there is out there, LOADS!!

I could easily spend ridiculous amounts of money on stuff that I either have no idea where I'll put it or I'm genuinely just buying it because it's beautiful. I wanted to make a quick homeware wish list, although wait I don't even have my own house. But I can't call it a bedroom wishlist, can I? Homeware sounded much better.

I have been obsessed with vintage & white painted furniture for such a long time now and I'm slowly building up a collection that I shouldn't be proud of but sadly I am. I'm currently loving all the lovely prints next are selling at the moment, they never fail to put a smile on my face.

I blame this blog post idea for me wanting even more homeware items, god damn it. I just can't resist!

1. Trio of cages tea light stand, £14.95. 2. Positivity Canvas, £25.  3. Three Buddha tealights, £184. Patchwork cushion covers, £14.95.  5. Ivory Rose metal shelf, £87.95. 6. Better Life print, £607. Metal wire basket, £9.99. 8. Daisy Cluster ceramic jug, £4.95.
